The summer transfer window thread
The time has come :)

So what do you think has got to be done in the summer regarding ins and outs?

If rumours are to be believed, he's not going anywhere, Massive Attack.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Yep, Creswell looks like he's finally ran his race with us and an incredible decent servant he's been. Goes with my very best wishes. At times a wand of a left foot and gave it his all for us.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Giving him a contract because he qualifies as a home grown player isn't a good enough reason to waste millions on him.

I like Cresswell. A fantastic servant who should have got a testimonial.

But there no way in a million years we should be offering him a new contract.

I was told Lopetegui wanted him at Wolves because they had no money. We're nowhere near the financial position Wolves are in.

I'd take up Antonio's 1 year extension then call it time. He's still got it on his day and would be good to have around as a bit of an insurance policy up top should we find ourselves struggling for whatever reason, be it injuries or form. He's got so much invaluable experience that Lopeteguicould tap in too for 1 season bedding in.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
If Cresswell gets an extension it will bebecause he is Home grown.

A situation we have created ourselves by not developing enough HG younger players in recent years.

Mubama and Johnson are definitely off so id be surprised if Antonio and/or Ings is sold either.

Hope we can sign a few decent HG players this summer. We have mostly done very well when buying players from the Championship.

Cresswell has been a good servant for the club but he needs to go, same for Antonio. Need to clean the slate

"Scamacca scored 8 in 27 for us.

That’s pretty far from failure."

It's a far better scoring rate than Antonio who is revered by some.

Did I read from Huffers on here that Cresswell is going to be getting a contract extension? I'm hoping I dreamt it.

I've got an awful feeling next season isn't going to be too far different from this season.

‘Feet - when you defend Moyes it’s all about the last 4 years, but when you wanna trash Haller you isolate one season that is post cancer treatment.

Massive Attack 11:05 Mon May 20
Re: The summer transfer window thread
Haller has been receiving treatment and coming to terms with a life threatening testicular cancer, so it's understandable he's been in and out the side. But even then when he has played for either Ajax or Dortmund has still managed to come up with crucial Champions League goals since he left us.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Pretty much, Faux. Thing is what infuriates me is we all know how damn hard it is to attract and sign quality Strikers and we did that but had to then watch them leave as soon as they arrive because we couldn't get to grips with playing to their strengths.

Our loss is now Atalantas gain enjoying a phenomenal season for an unfashionable Club playing great Football, in Europa League and Italian Finals and now touching distance of the Champions League in 5th currently. with Scamacca at the heart of it all as soon as ge left us/Moyes. He has all the tools and the perfect age too at just 25yo.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Hallers records this season, played 18 scored 3

None in the league.

Yet some of you are still crying about him leaving.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
For some reason Scamacca & Haller didn’t flourish when asked to play as a number 9 40 yds ahead of their next teammate battling 2 or 3 defenders
If we are going to shift 30yds up the pitch and try and PLAY I suspect either would do better as they have shown elsewhere
Obviously it will be someone else & hopefully Tim can find a gem to play with Bowen & Kudus

goose - OK mate.

it's true that some don't work out in the PL due to physique etc, but looking at Scamacca he looks perfect for the PL, as for his lack of pace, Moyes doesn't really need his no 9 to be pacey. Big shame.

Massive Attack 10:17 Mon May 20
Re: The summer transfer window thread
No one said it was, div. It was to make the point the fella clearly has quality in a decent level of Football we were also in, in recent times. It was always levelled at him, can't do it in the Premier League, Europa Conference is about his level and yet ripped it up in the Europa League the minute he leaves us and did it against top Premier League quality Liverpool.

The excuses for your dearly beloved have one by one evaporated and in the process we've had to endure watching a raft of decent players leave as if they were all the problem and not the manager. It's the manager that got found out, not the scapegoat players.

Then there’s the little matter of no striker did well here under Moyes you numpty…..

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Just because someone does well in Europe that doesn’t always translate well to the much faster paced and more physical premier league ffs.

Plenty of players who have done well in Europe have disappointed in the Prem league.

Scammacca isn’t the first and won’t be the last.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Sounds promising. Future looks bright with so many Academy and other promising 18yo coming to the Club for the new season, hoping to impress.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Massive I think Brown is predominantly a CB who can play left back. Supposed to be highly rated. Blimey, talking about 18 year olds getting in the squad and actually playing games!

goose 12:07 Mon May 20
Re: The summer transfer window thread
Manuel, it’s a toss up between Scamacca & Mateo Retegui of Genoa.

Massive Attack 12:06 Mon May 20
Re: The summer transfer window thread
I was hoping we'd focus on 1 of Scarles or Johnson (if he remains?) for Emerson Left Back cover next season.
